Frequently Asked Questions
Got questions? We've got answers! Below are common questions about the league.
How do I join the league?
Contact the league administrator with your name, discord handle, and army information. If the league is actively running, then you will need to wait until the next season.
How long is the league?
The league will run for three months or twelve weeks from the start date, with four weeks of break in between each season. The twelve weeks was elected to give plenty of time to get each game in. 8 or 10 weeks was the original consideration but felt rushed for players due to life constraints.
How does the pod system work?
A pod will range from 6 to 11 players, if there are 12 or more players then they will be split into separate pods. The pods will be set up close to round robin style allowing players to compete against one another.
How do I submit a match result?
Navigate to the Submit Match page in the navigation menu. Fill out the form with both players' information, scores, mission details, and any notes. The leaderboard will update automatically once submitted.
What is a "ringer" match?
Depending on the player amount in the league with 5 rounds, some players will have a "bye" round where they don't have a scheduled opponent. During their ringer round, players can choose any other league member to play against for that round. This ensures everyone gets to play 5 games even with an odd number of players.
How is the leaderboard calculated?
The leaderboard ranks players primarily by total wins. Tie-breakers use win percentage, then total points scored, then point differential. All stats are calculated automatically from submitted match results.
What rules format do we use?
We follow the most current official Warhammer 40,000 tournament rules and mission pack. Games are 2000 points, with standardized terrain and aiming 3-hour time limits (with reasonable flexibility). Check the latest Tournament Guidelines for specific rules updates or reach out to the Admin. It is recommended to use the TableTop Battles app on your mobile device to handle mission scoring and gameplay. This also helps with measurements, deployment zones, mission information, etc. A great resource for mission card information can be found here if you do not have a physical deck: Game Datamissions Cards for Chapter Approved 2025-2026.
What kind of board, table, and terrain do we use?
To fit competitive standards, games are to be played on a 60x44 table with GW based terrain layouts, including footprints. Layouts are chosen at time of game while missions are assigned at the schedule. We recommend using the TableTop Battles phone App to handle missions and gameplay. This also has recommended terrain layouts.
Dedicated terrain is available at The Game Corner in a couple bags behind the counter. You may also use what is available on the footprints to replicate the terrain. No terrain in GW is more than 5.5", plunging fire is not available in these standards.
Are layouts and deployment zones pre-determined?
Partially. The missions assign a Primary mission and deployment zone. From there, various layouts are recommended. It is a recommended to roll off for the layout to keep it randomized.
Do I need a fully painted army?
No! All players will receive painted points. This prioritizes game play and encourages people to join.
Are Proxy Models allowed?
Yes! Please do the homework and measurements to ensure its as close as possible to the official model including height, width, and base size. At the time of your game, please communicate with your opponent what proxy models correlate to their desired unit.
What if I can't make it to a scheduled round?
Life happens! Contact your scheduled opponent as early as possible. Reschedule matches or adjust pairings when necessary. Communication is key!
How do I update my player profile?
Go to the Player Page Submission to submit your list and profile.
